Canis LupusWritten on September 2, 1999. By David Jack Have you ever seen a wolf? Most of you probably answered no since wolves have been extinct in Japan for about 100 years. In some isolated parts of Canada there are many wolves. I think that they are one of the most beautiful wild animals that I have ever seen. They are also very intelligent. If you ever have the chance to view them in their natural environment, you will understand why. They work together in packs to hunt large animals for food, and they sometimes play together like children. They only have one enemy, Homo sapiens (human beings). I can only hope that the wolves in North America will not suffer the same fate as their brothers and sisters in Japan.
